ITV News viewers have voiced their concerns after a presenter appeared to stumble over his words and struggle to read the news bulletins.

Rageh Omaar, 56, editor of ITV News International Affairs was gathering the day’s top stories when he suddenly became incoherent while live on air.

ITV+1 later pulled the program from repeats. A message on the screen said: ‘We’ll be back soon. We are temporarily unable to offer you our +1 service.

Viewers were quick to express their concerns on social media, with one user saying: ‘I hope he’s doing well and nothing serious is going on.’

Another said: ‘What happened to him, is he okay and why didn’t they take him off air?’

While a third said: ‘I thought he was just having trouble with the auto-cue but I hope he’s feeling better.’
