Katy Perry found a touching way to commemorate her time on America Idol when she retired from the talent show on Sunday after seven seasons as a judge.

The pop star, 39, took to the stage in a giant, sky-high 20-foot dress featuring the faces of every Top 24 contestant who appeared on the show during her tenure.

The gown ultimately contained a total of 168 faces and was so elaborate that it required a team of seven people to transport it through the set.

“I thought it would be a good way to honor my time here by putting the top 24 from each season on my skirt so they were all there,” the Part of Me hitmaker said. Entertainment tonight.

Perry also talked about who her replacement could be on the popular singing series.

While she didn’t name anyone specifically, the singer said she hopes her successor will be candid.

‘I hope it’s someone who has no fear. “I hope it’s someone who doesn’t mince their words, maybe someone who’s a bit polarizing, like me,” she said.

Perry became emotional as she took the stage on Sunday for her final episode as a judge on ABC’s American Idol.

The pop superstar wore a strapless and sleeveless seven-rose metallic top along with a long white skirt during her seven seasons on the show.

She held hands with fellow judges Luke Bryan, 47, and Lionel Richie, 74, as she was introduced by presenter Ryan Seacrest, 49.

‘Are you crying?’ Seacrest asked after Perry bowed her head.

“We’re going to miss you,” the host said as he hugged Perry. “I’m already emotional tonight.”

Perry, Bryan and Richie then acknowledged screaming fans in the audience before taking their seats for the live show.

The three-hour finale saw finalists Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley battle it out to win season 22.

Jon Bon Jovi, 62, served as a special mentor for the finalists during the three-hour finale.
