USWNT soccer stars Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger ‘are getting divorced after four years of marriage with their relationship irretrievably broken’

USWNT soccer stars Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger are divorcing after four years of marriage.

According to Page Six, Harris filed for divorce and a court document dated September 19 stated that their relationship was “irretrievably broken.”

Harris, 37, retired from soccer in November 2022 and Krieger, 39, plays for Gotham FC but will retire after this weekend’s match – Gotham’s last of the season.

They adopted two children together and married on December 28, 2019 in Miami, nine months after revealing their engagement.

They met in 2010 at USWNT training camp. In an interview with Allure in 2020, they admitted that being teammates while being in a relationship was difficult at times.

“The team comes first,” Harris said. “We actually don’t stay in the same room (on the road). If we are in the same room, we are in separate beds because sleep plays an important role in our recovery.

“I think that’s the hardest part. We don’t really have a good time together. We have to save time even if we see each other all the time. It is complicated.’

Harris has played 25 times for the United States as a goalkeeper while Krieger, a defender, has made 108 appearances at international level for her country, both winning two World Cups in 2015 and 2019.

Krieger played in both Finals while Harris was on the team but did not take the field for either game.
