Air India unveils sneak peek video of brand new cabins, with each class redesigned as part of massive £315m fleet upgrade
Air India has unveiled a preview of brand new cabins to be launched on its wide fleet from next year.
The airline said the refurbishment program of its fleet of 43 wide-body legacy aircraft will begin in mid-2024.
The fly-through video shows viewers the all-new first class, business, premium economy and economy cabins in a Boeing 777-300ER.

The new cabins are part of a $400 million (£315 million) refurbishment program that will see the old mustard-and-red cabins replaced with fancier new seats that come with a new onboard entertainment system and Wi-Fi connectivity on board.

Air India is on a massive spending spree and has also confirmed purchase deals to acquire 470 short-haul and long-haul aircraft from Airbus and Boeing in deals worth $70bn (£55bn).
The New Delhi-based airline has also unveiled a “modern new brand identity and aircraft livery that captures the essence of a bold new India.”
The airline, whose global hub is Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, said: “The new look reinterprets the iconic Indian window shape, historically used by Air India, in a golden window frame that takes center stage in the new brand design system – symbolizing a” Window of Possibilities”.
“The new logo symbol – “The Vista” – is inspired by the top of the golden window frame, representing limitless possibilities, forward thinking and the airline’s bold, confident view of the future.”
Travelers will see the new logo and livery on flights from December 2023, when Air India’s first Airbus A350 – originally destined for Aeroflot – enters the fleet.

The carrier is also launching a new ‘all hours, every day’ customer contact center in nine Indian and foreign languages by the end of this year.
The airline is also investing in the construction of new lounges at JFK airports in Delhi and New York – and has welcomed more than 5,000 new employees.
A recruitment campaign has seen 3,200 cabin crew and nearly 1,000 pilots join the airline, “to drive the cultural transformation happening at the heart of Air India.”

The airline also plans to build one of the world’s largest aviation training academies in India, on a site near New Delhi.
