Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi ‘approached by multiple Saudi Arabian clubs’
Callum Hudson-Odoi ‘approached by multiple Saudi Arabian clubs’ as Middle East target ANOTHER Chelsea star after N’Golo Kante landing
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly being targeted by multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia.
The 22-year-old was loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen last season but will return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, he could leave again as there is a lot of interest in the young striker from the Middle East.
Hudson-Odoi has been approached by two Saudi clubs, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It is currently unclear whether Hudson-Odoi would be willing to accept a move to Saudi Arabia as formal talks with the player are yet to take place.
Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer
The 22-year-old winger had a difficult season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season
He is the latest Chelsea player to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, after N’Golo Kante completed his move to Al-Ittihad on Tuesday night.
Several fringe players at Chelsea have also been targeted by the Saudi Pro League, with Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all sparking interest.
The Blues must sack players this summer to ensure they adhere to Financial Fair Play rules after spending £600m last season.
Some fans have become excited at the prospect of their divestitures joining the Saudi Pro League amid ties between the country’s Public Investment Fund and Chelsea’s majority shareholder, Clearlake Capital.
Mail Sport revealed last year that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are major investors in Clearlake. PIF also owns Newcastle and controls four leading clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Hudson-Odoi would now have to make a big decision about his future after a disappointing season in Germany as he approaches the final year of his Chelsea contract.
He made just 14 Bundesliga appearances in 2022/23 due to a combination of injuries, setbacks and a loss of form, failing to find the net for the German team.
Hudson-Odoi progressed through Chelsea’s academy and made 126 appearances for the senior side, but may now leave his youth club if he receives a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
Hudson-Odoi could follow in N’Golo Kante’s footsteps by moving to Saudi Arabia after the French midfielder completed his move to Al-Ittihad on Tuesday.
