Superstar TV creator Ryan Murphy is leaving Netflix, finalizing a $300 million deal for Disney.
Ryan has reportedly been negotiating his new deal with Walt Disney Co. for nearly a year. – most of the details were ironed out before the WGA strike that started in May. However, the terms of the deal are not yet known.
During his time at Netflix, which began in 2018, Murphy produced hits such as Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Watcher, The Politician, Halston, and the feature film The Prom.
Murphy is also behind several other recent mega hits, including Glee and American Horror Story.

Prior to his five-year Netflix deal, Murphy had a deal with 20th Century Fox TV, which has since been acquired by Disney.
Dana Walden, now the co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, previously worked at 20th Century Fox when Murphy had an overall deal with the studio.
Even during Murphy’s exclusive development deal with Netflix, he continued to nurture past projects developed with Disney-owned FX, including American Horror Story, Pose, and Feud.
To date, Murphy’s Netflix partnership has spawned two miniseries: Hollywood and Halston, three ongoing dramas: Ratched, Monster, and The Watcher, three movies: The Boys in the Band, The Prom, and Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, three documentaries: Circus of Books, A Secret Love and Pray Away, and a docuseries: The Andy Warhol Diaries.

The politician was ordered before Murphy signed the huge deal with the streaming service.
The news of Murphy leaving Netflix for Disney comes amid the WGA strike, which has left some of Murphy’s shows, including the final season of American Horror Story starring Kim Kardashian, in production.
Spokesmen for Murphy, Disney and Netflix have all declined to comment on or confirm the deal’s report.
