Ever since President Joe Biden started shooting down all unidentified floating objects over the United States, the public has wondered why.

Now, four ‘objects’, including the Chinese spy ship, have been blown up by sophisticated weapons of war in the past 10 days.

So what explains the White House going from letting balloons fly across purple mountains and fruitful plains to suddenly fighting F-22s and F-16s to destroy anything that moves?

Who knows?

Given that this fiasco involves national security and intelligence, it stands to reason that Biden would not simply reveal everything. But so far, we have received mixed messages that are causing confusion and even fear. And to this administration, disgustingly, it’s all one big joke.

On Monday, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg joked about the situation while lamenting the challenges he faces. “We’ve faced problems from container shipping to airline cancellations… Now we have balloons,” he quipped to an awkward laugh from the audience.

Ha ha, indeed.

To make matters worse, Buttigieg has blatantly ignored a noxious mushroom cloud of smoke emanating from burning toxic chemicals spewed from a train wreck in East Palestine, Ohio.

With almost no warning, the city’s working-class residents were driven from their homes and evacuated after tanker trucks derailed on February 3, spilling carcinogens such as vinyl chloride, phosgene and hydrogen chloride. Now people fear long-term cancer risks and ecological devastation.

Pete barely said a word about it. But he took the time to complain that the construction crews were too white.

The response was swift and damning, even from some progressive Democrats.

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert went further: ‘Not a single comment on the train wreck in Ohio. Instead, he lamented the whiteness of the construction industry. It is amazing that this country is able to function under this regime.’

This is a time for Americans to decide what really matters. Will we continue to destroy each other in intramural culture wars as Mayor Pete urges, or will we unite, as our nation has always done in the face of foreign threats?

China clearly prefers Americans to fight each other.

Unfortunately, all too often, Biden and his cabinet seem to share that view.
