DAVID MARCUS: What kind of White House has no say in what REALLY matters to Americans?

>

Ever since President Joe Biden started shooting down all unidentified floating objects over the United States, the public has wondered why.

Now, four ‘objects’, including the Chinese spy ship, have been blown up by sophisticated weapons of war in the past 10 days.

So what explains the White House going from letting balloons fly across purple mountains and fruitful plains to suddenly fighting F-22s and F-16s to destroy anything that moves?

Who knows?

Given that this fiasco involves national security and intelligence, it stands to reason that Biden would not simply reveal everything. But so far, we have received mixed messages that are causing confusion and even fear. And to this administration, disgustingly, it’s all one big joke.

On Monday, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg joked about the situation while lamenting the challenges he faces. “We’ve faced problems from container shipping to airline cancellations… Now we have balloons,” he quipped to an awkward laugh from the audience.

Ha ha, indeed.

To make matters worse, Buttigieg has blatantly ignored a noxious mushroom cloud of smoke emanating from burning toxic chemicals spewed from a train wreck in East Palestine, Ohio.

With almost no warning, the city’s working-class residents were driven from their homes and evacuated after tanker trucks derailed on February 3, spilling carcinogens such as vinyl chloride, phosgene and hydrogen chloride. Now people fear long-term cancer risks and ecological devastation.

Pete barely said a word about it. But he took the time to complain that the construction crews were too white.

“We’ve heard too many stories of past generations of infrastructure where you have a neighborhood, often a neighborhood of color, that eventually sees the project come to them, but everyone with helmets on that project, doing high-paying jobs, it doesn’t seem like they came from nowhere near the neighborhood,’ he lamented.

The response was swift and damning, even from some progressive Democrats.

Nina Turner, a former Ohio state senator who is a supporter of Bernie Sanders, quipped, “She jokes about balloons while ignoring East Palestine, OH.” We deserve better than this.’

Yeah.

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert went further: ‘Not a single comment on the train wreck in Ohio. Instead, he lamented the whiteness of the construction industry. It is amazing that this country is able to function under this regime.’

That night, 10 days after the accident, Buttigieg finally addressed the accident, writing: “I continue to be concerned about the impacts of the February 3 train derailment near East Palestine, OH, and the effects on families in the ten days since than their lives.” They were overturned through no fault of their own.

Boebert is absolutely right.

The federal government is NOT working if it doesn’t address the real concerns of ordinary Americans. And to this measure, the Biden White House is failing utterly.

The president only vaguely referred to the Chinese spy balloon in his State of the Union address. Later, in brief comments to PBS News, he said the incident did not constitute a “significant violation.” That doesn’t make any sense.

Why then did Secretary of State Anthony Blinken cancel his trip to China?

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Monday that US policy on incursions into airspace has not changed. That’s absurd.

Why, then, do objects explode above our heads?

The world witnesses the irresponsibility of Biden and his pack of lackeys as they all fumble themselves.

This is deeply unserious and disturbingly dangerous.

There is an old saying, ‘hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times, easy times create weak men’. I think we know where we are now on that merry-go-round.

For the Biden administration, it is still 1990.

Three decades of America’s superpower status have emboldened these navel-gazing neoliberals, who now lurk in the White House corridors squawking about the bigotry supposedly lurking under the beds, as China hatches its plans for dominance. the world.

The Biden administration would rather focus on an imagined crisis of racism and awakening than the real-world consequences of toxic train accidents or the actual crisis of Chinese aggression.

The only thing that can end all this nonsense is the realization that America is facing a real threat. Ridiculous claims of institutional racism fall apart when Americans of all races, creeds and colors recognize that we face a common enemy.

Last week, the Chinese military didn’t even pick up the phone when Secretary Austin called to address these events. It is an act of conspicuous disrespect from an opponent who believes that America is in decline.

Now, Secretary Blinken plans to once again meet with his CCP counterparts, which seems to send the message: ‘Please, China, don’t stop trading with us, we can forget about the balloons.’

Unfortunately, America may need to be reminded of how America became the world leader: World War II and the Cold War.

Let’s be perfectly clear, the status of the United States is at great risk, our airspace defenses are like Swiss cheese, we are almost in a proxy war with Russia, and Americans are realizing that a galaxy of pronouns e Black national anthems in the Super Bowl ain’t gonna fix it.

But sadly, we are headed by the weakest president to occupy the Oval Office in modern history.

Often when asked about the nation’s challenges, Biden often narrows his eyes, clenches his jaw and smugly whispers, “Just look at me.”

Well, we are watching and what we see is an embarrassing and chaotic display of shyness and incompetence. China is watching too, no doubt with a big smile, certain that Biden will do nothing to stop her aggression.

This is a time for Americans to decide what really matters. Will we continue to destroy each other in intramural culture wars as Mayor Pete urges, or will we unite, as our nation has always done in the face of foreign threats?

China clearly prefers Americans to fight each other.

Unfortunately, all too often, Biden and his cabinet seem to share that view.
