The veteran musician admits it’s a “different” kind of challenge than he’s used to.
David shared: “I had all the daughters up until my son and I love all my daughters immensely, but having a son is a little different.”

The Grammy-winning star, who married Katherine in 2019, told PEOPLE: “At this point in my life, it’s different again.” Not better not worse, just different. I’m still working, I’m still gone a lot, but maybe time is a bit more valuable to me because now I have more track behind me than in front of me.
David is also determined to pass on his ‘wisdom’ to his son.
He said: ‘I think I can offer Rennie one thing even though I won’t be around when she’s 50 or 40, or maybe 30. I think I can offer her the wisdom of my 72 years on the planet. And maybe that’s not a bad trade-off. I hope so.’
They make sweet music together: McPhee and Foster perform on stage during the PNE Winter Fair at the Pacific Coliseum in December in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
