Angela Deem’s suspicious daughter Skyla Rae convinced her to hire a private investigator to investigate her now-estranged husband Michael Ilesanmi, who they feared would scam her on Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After.
The 58-year-old grandmother of six from Florida is 23 years older than the cheating Nigerian, whom she met on Facebook in 2017 and married in 2020.
Angela and Michael were long-distance lovers until he finally got a US visa last December and moved to Georgia. However, on February 23, he went ‘missing’ without a trace, with only the ‘clothes he was wearing’. It was said that he was ‘scared for his life’.
Ilesanmi now lives happily in Texas, but in Sunday’s episode they were still struggling to live together.
“Mama just keeps hiding from him, hiding, and it’s just — it’s disgusting how she just… I mean, you really seem like one of those old, naive old ladies who gets scammed,” Skyla said in a confessional.

“The fact that Michael looked up Mom’s life insurance policies is just a red flag. And now I’m worried about my mom’s safety. I think the private investigator is going to find out a lot about Michael. I think he’s going to find out that he scammed her, that he lied to her, cheated on her, and hid money from her. I think he’s going to find out the whole story.”
When Skyla suggested that Michael was “trying to kill” her, Deem agreed: “That’s what I thought at first.”
Skyla replied, “He’s not trying to leave you. He’s trying [to have] “You’re letting everyone down. I can’t wait to expose him.”
The mother-daughter duo met the PI together at a restaurant, and the former nursing assistant told him, “If you prove he’s really scamming me, he’s going home, one way or another. I’m ready to quit, give up, move on, that’s it. Honest.”
Angela later said in a confessional: “I did everything I promised Michael. I loved him unconditionally, I brought him to the United States, I brought him back when I shouldn’t have, and now I’m willing to sacrifice our marriage to find out the truth.”
It won’t end well, as the same private investigator makes a pivotal appearance in the eighth season Tell-All reunion, where he reveals his findings about Ilesanmi.
“This man is hurting me!” Deem screamed in the teaser for the TLC reality show.
“No woman deserves to be treated like this! No one!”

Last August, former 90 Day Fiancé cast member Deavan Clegg revealed on Instagram Live that the cast only made $1,000 per episode and $1,500 for the Tell-All, but that she was “almost breaking even” because she “wasn’t reimbursed for travel, parking, and food expenses” most days.
And in 2020, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After star Danielle Mullins told Jbali Domenick Nati show that the cast will earn $10,000 “if you appear in every episode of the season,” with $5,000 up front, but if you break your nondisclosure agreement, “you don’t get the rest of your money.”
