FALLS CITY, Texas — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake that struck early Saturday morning near a small Texas town, one of several that have struck the area in recent days, could be felt dozens of miles away, including in San Antonio.
According to the US Geological Survey, there were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries from the 12:32 a.m. earthquake that occurred about 2 miles (3 kilometers) southeast of Falls City. Falls City, with a population of about 500, is located about 45 miles southeast of San Antonio.
About 10 minutes earlier, the area had a magnitude 4.4 earthquake, the US Geological Survey said. There have been several earthquakes in the area in recent days and about 30 in the area in the past three weeks. But all the others were of lower magnitude.
