Mark Zuckerberg told Elon Musk to take their proposed $1 billion superfight seriously or “go ahead” in a series of messages leaked by his tech rival.

Zuckerberg and Musk seemed ready to duke it out when the latter tweeted that he’s “in for a cage fight” with his fellow billionaire, who responded by saying, “Send me location.”

UFC President Dana White later confirmed that both men were indeed “serious” about making an MMA showdown that he predicts would generate more than $1 billion in revenue sometime this year.

White also revealed last week that he was in talks with Italy’s culture minister to discuss the staging of Zuckerberg vs Musk at Rome’s famed Colosseum – one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

However, Zuckerberg is now expressing doubts about the fight taking place after writing in a post on his new social media site Threads, “If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and an official event, he knows how to reach me.”

Over the weekend, Musk also leaked a screenshot of his private messages with Zuckerberg, who responded negatively to a request for a “practice fight” at his Palo Alto mansion.

Zuckerberg built an Octagon on the property earlier this month in preparation for his possible clash with Musk, leaving his wife Priscilla Chan furious.

American author Walter Isaacson, who wrote a biography of Musk due out next month, shared a photo on X from the South African who sent him the exchange with Zuckerberg, writing, “Wow.”

In the screenshot, the Meta chief responded to Musk’s challenge to a practice fight in his Octagon, saying, “If you still want to do a real MMA fight, then you just need to train and let me know when you’re ready to fight.” compete.

“I don’t want to keep hyped about something that will never happen, so you have to decide that you’re going to do this and do it quickly, or we have to move on.”

According to Business Insiderwas Musk’s full reply, “I haven’t practiced much, other than a short fight with Lex Fridman today.”

“While I think it’s highly unlikely given our size difference, you might be a modern day Bruce Lee and somehow win.”

Zuckerberg’s Threads post on Musk pretty much confirms that the leaked messages were a genuine exchange between the two men, as he spoke out about the offer for an exhibition match and questioned his rival’s willingness to host a real match.

“I offered a real date. (UFC President) Dana White offered to make it a legitimate bout for charity,” he said.

Elon doesn’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice run in my backyard instead.

“If Elon is ever serious about a real date and an official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise time to move on. I’m going to focus on competitions with people who take the sport seriously.’

A source close to Zuckerberg has told Dailymail.com that his proposed clash with Musk is just “a lot of smoke and mirrors,” as both men know defeat could have disastrous consequences for their respective brands.

“They both have huge egos, but they also have all the money in the world, and a spectacle like this could be catastrophic for their brands, because whoever lost the fight could be extremely embarrassed. There really isn’t much benefit.’

The source added that “the most likely scenario is that we will live in a zombie apocalypse before these two fight each other.”
