Celebrity stylist Law Roach shocked the fashion world on Tuesday when he announced his retirement, saying “politics, lies and false narratives finally got me.”

The 44-year-old fashion star, who is the man behind Zendaya’s incredible red carpet looks, dropped the bombshell on instagramwhere he posted an image of a red sign reading ‘RETIRED’ written in big white letters.

The news comes just days after he dressed several stars for the Vanity Fair Oscar party, including Kerry Washington, Megan Thee Stallion, Hunter Schafer, Hailee Steinfeld and Eve Jobs.

‘My Cup is empty… thank you to everyone who has supported me and my career over the years. Every single person that trusted me with the picture of him, I’m so thankful for all of you,’ he wrote in the caption.

‘If this business was just for clothes, I would do it for the rest of my life, but unfortunately it’s not!’ she added. ‘Politics, lies and false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.

Roach’s unexpected post had some fans checking the calendar to see if it was an April Fool’s joke. Others refused to accept his departure from the fashion world and pleaded with him to continue as a stylist.

‘Law I will not leave you!!!! We don’t give up… we try our hardest,’ supermodel Naomi Campbell responded to her post.

“Absolutely not,” commented designer Christian Siriano, while stylist Karla Welch simply wrote: “No.”

‘Don’t do it LAW. We need you!’ hairstylist Brad Gorseki agreed.

Roach suffered a personal tragedy in 2021 after his three-year-old nephew, Lamar Roach Jr., fell to his death from a 17th-floor apartment building in Chicago.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, he thanked his followers for their “prayers and well wishes” and said: “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with.”
