Zendaya also revealed that she has also considered the prospect of starting a family in the public eye, admitting that she doesn’t want her future children to “have to deal with her fame.”
She said: ‘It’s a matter of sustainability, how she can continue to make this demanding business that she loves work for her.
‘Because I don’t necessarily want my children to have to deal with this (fame)’ ‘… and what does my future look like? Will I be a public person forever?’
Discussing her fame, she added, “You just kind of get used to, ‘Oh, I’m also one of those works of art that you’re going to take a picture of.’ I just have to be totally cool. with it and just live my life.”
‘I think growing up I always felt like if someone asks for a photo, I always have to do it. You have to say yes, because you just have to be grateful that you are here.
“And while I still feel that way, I’ve also learned that I can say no, and I can kindly say that I have the day off, or that I’m just trying to be myself today, and I’m not really doing that. have to perform all the time.’
Zendaya continued, “Now when I have these moments in my career – like the first time I lead a movie that’s actually going to be released in theaters – I feel like I’m cringing, I can’t enjoy all the things that are out there. what happens to me because that’s who I am,” before clenching her fists.
‘I’m very tense, and I think I carry that from being a kid and never really having the chance to try anything. And I wish I went to school.”

Zendaya will play a tennis star in the steamy film Challengers, in which she stars alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist
The star also discussed playing an adult mother herself in her upcoming film Challengers, in which she stars opposite Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.
‘I’m always in a secondary school somewhere. And mind you, I never went to high school.
“So it was refreshing to break that. And it was also a little scary, because I thought, I hope people buy me as my own age, or maybe a little older, because I have friends who have children, or are having children.’
In the thrilling feature film from Suspiria and Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, Zendaya plays Tashi Duncan, an aspiring tennis player who gives up her career after a serious injury.
Instead, she focuses on coaching her colleague Art (Faist), whom she falls in love with and marries, but finds her feelings dangerously divided after Art is signed up for the Challenger Tour, where he faces off against Tashi’s ex friend Patrick (O’ Connor).
About her role as the ruthless sportswoman Tashi, she said, “I usually play the person who is easier to empathize with in the end.
“There was something about her that felt very, ‘Oh damn.’ Even I was a little scared of her.
“I mean, listen, she takes things to a whole new level… yeah, I’m competitive in the sense that I want to work hard and I try not to be competitive with anyone else. I’m just trying to say, ”I already did that, okay, so now I have to do better.”’
Meanwhile, Josh said of starring alongside Zendaya: “It was my first big American studio film, and she was very good at making both Mike and I feel at ease,” says O’Connor.
Faist added that she wanted them to “take the work seriously, but not take ourselves too seriously while we were doing it.”
“I think it’s a real gift to be able to do what we do… and sometimes it’s really, really stupid. I think she really recognizes the smoke and mirrors that this can be, and the complexity of it all.”

In a recent interview, Zendaya also revealed that it was “very helpful” to have an intimacy coordinator on set while she filmed Challengers, and she praised them for ensuring a “safe” environment on set.
“We had an intimacy coordinator who was fantastic and very helpful because it was important that we felt safe,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is infused with “intense” erotic scenes between Zendaya and her leads, so the trio had to find ways to relax when in front of the camera.
“I talked to my colleagues so we could find a way to feel comfortable. We played tennis together, we went out together, we rehearsed together,” she said. ‘We need to build a bond and feel good about each other.’
Faist agreed, adding that that unstructured time was essential for creating a solid bond and portraying believable romance on screen.
“We were able to spend time together during rehearsals and outside of rehearsals, especially with Josh,” he explained. “We got to know each other as people before we could get into the movie. A real friendship developed, which formed the basis of the film.’
