Zendaya has opened up about her struggle with ‘self-criticism’ in a stunning shoot for Hollywood Reporter Leading Ladies Issue.
The actress, 28, joined a host of A-listers at a round table to discuss their experiences in Hollywood in the January edition.
As the most influential stars in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie, 49, Demi Moore, 63, Zendaya, Tilda Swinton, 64, Zoe Saldaña, 46, and Mikey Madison, 25, came together for the first time to discuss their lives on and off screen .
Zendaya opened up about her insecurities, saying that she finds being on set to be the one place where she feels “super free,” but has difficulty promoting her films because of the “judgment” she may receive.
She said: ‘I’m a very self-confident person. I am very self-critical in everything I do. And I find that being on set is one of the few places where I don’t judge myself. I can just be super free. Because I’m like, “Wait, it’s not me.” So I don’t mind looking at myself.
“It never really freaks me out until I say, ‘Oh, people are going to see this.’ As soon as it’s time to promote something, I think, “Oh, now I’m aware of the work I just created.”

In a room full of award-winning actresses, it’s no surprise that an A-lister was left completely in awe by a fellow industry star.
British actress Tilda said she was once ‘too shy’ to go up to Angelina and introduce herself at a Hollywood party.
She said, ‘She was there. We had Liza Minnelli here and we had Sacha Baron Cohen there and Angie was there.
‘And both Pedro [Almodóvar] and I was scorched by the glamor of it. We just couldn’t believe we were there.”
Modest Angelina replied, “And I was probably – because I never go out – really alone and not sure if anyone wanted to talk to me. And I probably would have been so happy if they had said hello.”
Tilda added, “We’re all shy.”

The England star revealed that he will be content spending time with his children and playing the occasional round of golf.
He told Men’s Health magazine: ‘When I have children you won’t see me in films anymore. Golf and dad – and I’ll just disappear off the face of the earth.’
Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spider-man: Homecoming in 2017, but have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Tom previously revealed that the reason he keeps his relationship with girlfriend Zendaya so private is because their bond is “the thing he holds most sacred.”
