Zayn Malik sends fans wild as he announces first ever solo tour after a decade of battling stage fright and anxiety
Zayn Malik is set to embark on his first solo tour of the UK and US.
The One Direction star confirmed the exciting news during his appearance on US talk show Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night.
The British singer gave Jimmy a note at his surprise performance that read: ‘Hey Jimmy, great to see you mate. I’m going on my first solo tour this fall, so maybe after you’re done apple picking with your friends you can check out my Stairway To The Sky Tour across the US and UK.’
‘I’ll make an official announcement tomorrow morning. Let me know what date you want tickets for.’

Zayn recently performed at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, but this is the first time he’s embarked on a major tour since leaving One Direction.
The March performance in London also marked his first time back on stage since leaving the boy band.
Since leaving the successful boy band, he has scheduled a number of live performances, only to cancel, explaining how anxious he gets when he is on stage.
In his 2016 memoir, the singer reflected on his struggle with stage fright and anxiety: “I found it very frustrating that even when I spoke openly about the problem, some people still found reasons to doubt it,” he said.
“But that’s the way the industry is.” He said that being in One Direction helped him overcome his fears, but that being a solo artist left him feeling overwhelmed.
“As a solo artist I felt much more exposed and the psychological stress of performing just became too much for me – at that point, at least,” he wrote.
