Harry Styles isn’t the only former One Direction star to act.
Zayn Malik just accepted his first movie role in the animated film 10 Lives Variety.
The 29-year-old singer-songwriter has joined a cast that includes Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley and three-time BAFTA winner Mo Gilligan.

Derry Girl’s star Dylan Llewellyn and Sophie Okonedo, of Hotel Rwanda fame, will also voice characters in the new film.
Variety describes 10 Lives as the story of a “spoiled and selfish cat” who gets a 10th life after wasting his first nine.
Duck Duck Goose director Chris Jenkins will also direct 10 Lives.

The news of Malik’s casting came just a day after he shared a rare selfie on social media.
The former One Direction star, 29, showed off his pink-toned locks as he stared at the camera in awe in his first post since last month.
Before returning to Instagram, Zayn showed off his chest tattoos as he donned a gray knit cardigan worn open and completed his look with a chunky silver chain.
His long locks fell around his face as he looked into the camera as he stood in the blazing sun.

In response to his post, Zayn’s legions of fans begged him to release new music, with several people commenting how much they missed him.
One of them commented: ‘I MISSED YOU MANNN LIKEE VERY MUCH LIKEE SOO MUCHHHH LIKE YOU CAN’T SEE YOU.’
Another enthusiastic follower wrote: ‘RELEASE NEW MUSIC PLEASE.’
With another just happy top, I see him posting again as they commented, “Thanks for this proof of life selfie.”
