Zara Tindall makes rare comment about her children at West Yorkshire’s Bramham Horse Trials

Zara Tindall made a rare comment about her children while away from them at the Bramham Horse Trials in West Yorkshire.

The rider and horse enthusiast, 42, has competed in the dressage competition this week.

But the mother’s children, Mia, nine, Lena, four, and Lucas, two, and husband Mike were not present at the trials.

Speaking along the way Hello! after an event, Zara said, “He is [Mike] away sometime this weekend. He’s busy doing something for rugby, so busy, in different directions.

“Sometimes the family comes over, but that depends on how busy everyone is. With three little people it’s juggling everything.’

The family previously supported Zara at Burnham Market International Horse Trials in Norfolk in 2022 and The Whatley Manor Horse Trials in Gloucestershire in 2019.

The royal rode her gelding Class Affair on Friday and was very satisfied with the course of her dressage test.

The Olympic silver medal winner looked poised and focused as she rode in white riding breeches, a dark blue double-breasted blazer with a high collar.

The royal will also do her disciplines Show Jumping and Cross Country at Class Affair tomorrow.

Zara had some practice the day before as she also rode another horse, Classics Euro Star, in the first of two rounds.

After the race ended, Princess Anne’s daughter got on her bike on Thursday – her riding helmet also came in handy.

The royal is a serious international competitor in equestrian sports, having won a gold medal at the 2005 European Eventing Championships and a silver medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games.

Zara also previously won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the Great Britain Eventing Team.

In 2006 she was named Sports Personality of the Year by the BBC.

An avid horse lover, Zara also fills much of her free time with horses and was photographed last week at the Epsom Derby with husband Mike Tindall.

As Animal Rising protesters made an effort to disrupt the race, Zara made a rare intervention, urging them to stop their activities.

She said, ‘She [the protesters] talk about what they believe in…but do [they] totally understand what [they’re] talk about?’

Meanwhile, 44-year-old Mike begged activists to “spend some time at professional yards” to see how the horses are cared for.

The Olympic silver medalist looked poised and focused as she rode in white jodhpurs, a dark blue double-breasted blazer with a high collar.

As the pair basked in the sun at the races, Zara looked chic as always in a white midi dress with black stripes, topped off with a matching black and white cockade hat.

Meanwhile, Mike opted for a traditional morning suit, gray trousers under his black tailcoat – and a black and white striped tie to match his wife’s dress.

The couple appeared to be enjoying their day at Surrey Racecourse and were photographed smiling as they posed together.

And Zara was seen at one point enjoying a glass of wine, also watching the action intently.
