‘It’s Bizarre How Much Your Face Can Change’: Zara McDermott Shares Her Breathtaking Transformation As She Candidly Reveals Her Experience With Botox And Facial Fillers
She was just 21 years old when she rose to fame on ITV2’s Love Island.
And four years later, Zara McDermott has undergone a massive transformation in that time — when she took to Instagram on Thursday to document the change with unrecognizable snaps.
The now 25-year-old shared a throwback shot from 2018 and one from this year, admitting it was “crazy how much your face can change,” while speaking candidly about her experience with botox and fillers.

Zara posted to her 1.7 million followers and shared a photo of herself after she left the Love Island villa – she looked much more baby-faced.
And compared to a recent selfie, her face looked noticeably more textured and radiant in the latest snap.
‘Omg how crazy it is how much your face can change!!!!! (I didn’t have surgery by the way) I was 22 here,” she wrote and continued: “And this is what I look like now… the change!! I’m almost 26 now.’
Despite noting that she hadn’t had surgery, Zara left some followers a little confused as she explained her journey with botox and fillers.

Zara admitted she “always had a small amount of jaw filler” and said she had the aesthetic procedure done in both the before and after pictures.
And going on to explain the lifestyle changes that contributed to her makeover, the Made In Chelsea star attributed it to drinking 3L of water a day, a regulated skincare routine, a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Admitting that she also gets botox regularly, she went on to say that she started getting the procedure when she was younger — and has it in both snaps.
Calrification: Zara was forced to post another photo to clear up the confusion after receiving a large number of messages from followers who didn’t quite understand why the star said she “didn’t have surgery” despite receiving botox and fillers
Toning up: Zara has lost weight since Love Island (pictured left) by adopting a solid workout routine, following a more regulated diet and staying hydrated (pictured right in 2022)
Despite revealing that she loves her botox, Zara went on to say that the procedure is not something she often recommends to her followers.
Explaining her experience with the procedure, she said, “I love mine. Personally, I only have my botox done by my dentist (they know my face very well), or a doctor/nurse. I’ve gotten botox before from someone who wasn’t fully qualified (I only found out later!!!)
And now I look back and blame myself for accepting a treatment just because the price was right,” she continued, before urging fans to “do your research.”
But following her candid posts, Zara received a slew of messages from followers who didn’t quite understand why the star said she “didn’t have surgery” despite receiving botox and fillers.
Making it clear that she doesn’t consider botox to be “surgery,” she explained that “surgery is going under the knife for me.”
‘From the age of 22 and 26, nothing has changed procedurally for me. I get botox every 6 months and a filler every 2 years. That’s why I attributed my facial change to other factors,” she clarified.
