The Love Island star, 27, has now set the record straight, claiming she instead gave Sam, 31, a ‘passionate’ post-match pep talk.

Zara took to Instagram on Monday to address the photos, saying she told the reality star “positive affirmations” after they appeared to have an argument.

She wrote: ‘Why did this make me laugh so much? [laughing emojis] “Stop saying you should have scored!!!! You did your best and that’s all that matters!! You need to stop doubting yourself!!!”

“It looks like we’re arguing, but actually I’m telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate way.”

As they headed to the star-studded after-party at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, Zara engaged in a fiery conversation with the Made in Chelsea star.

Zara seemed frustrated as she visibly waved her arms while deep in a tense conversation, but now confirmed it was just an incredibly passionate conversation.

Earlier in the day, supportive girlfriend Zara cheered on the TV star as he helped England register a 6-3 win against World XI in the charity match.

Before the couple arrived at the afterparty, Sam kicked off his team’s celebration on a party bus that included Jill Scott, Danny Dyer, Bobby Brazier and Tom Grennan.

He shared an update on his Instagram and uploaded a clip while he was being treated by the team.

Reunited with his former I’m A Celebrity campmate, Tony Bellew – who will play for rival team World XI, the duo caught up after Sam’s physiotherapy session.

As he walked into the room, the boxer joked, “Do you just live here? You’ve been here all day.’

Laughing Sam replied: “It’s because I modified the old quad, mate,” before adding that Tony didn’t believe he was injured.

‘They call the physio room the Sam room. What a group of legends,” the TV personality wrote.

This year’s Soccer Aid clash took place in London, where a mix of former professional footballers and celebrities representing two teams – England and the World – went head-to-head in a televised event at Stamford Bridge to raise money for Unicef .
