Mike Tindall will be the first member of the Royal Family to appear in the ITV reality series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! — and wife Zara could fly to Australia in just over two weeks to join him.
The husband of the king’s niece arrived at Brisbane airport this morning after speculation he would join the lineup this year.
Tindall’s £150,000 deal comes after he was criticized for starring in ads for Domino’s Pizza and Amazon Prime.
Mike Tindall can be joined by his wife Zara Phillips, who is expected to fly to Australia to support her husband when he appears on I’m a Celebrity. The couple will be photographed at Wimbledon in June

Dressed in a baseball cap, sunglasses and jeans, the 44-year-old former England rugby player declined to say whether he had asked permission from the Royal Family to appear on the popular show. When asked about this answer, he replied, “It’s not something I need to tell you, is it?”
Sources working on the program say they expect Zara — Princess Anne’s daughter — to fly to the Gold Coast when the I’m A Celeb contestants are evicted about ten days into the series.
Usually, families and friends of the stars stay at the five-star Versace hotel close to the camp so they can be on set when the contestants are kicked out of the show.
A source said: ‘There’s been a lot of talk about Zara’s flight out and people expect her to be there.
“What a great scene that would be. Mike is the first royal to appear on I’m A Celeb, so if Zara is there when he comes out it would be a great moment.”
A spokesperson for the couple would not say whether the 41-year-old Zara, the eldest niece of King Charles, would go.
Landing after a 20-hour flight from Heathrow airport, Tindall said his 11-year-old wife is happy he’s joining the program and said, “I wouldn’t do it otherwise.” He added that Australia is a “special place” when he met Zara in Sydney.
He added: “It’s probably one of the longest times we’ve gone completely without communication. When you leave, you still have communication, so of course that’s going to be the hardest part.

“You just have to keep your wits about doing what you’re doing and trying to win some stars and stuff and see where you’re going. I want to win stars because I want to eat.’
About his fears of going into the jungle, Tindall said, “Hunger will always be the biggest problem to worry about, but I also have three kids, so dealing with lack of speech is part of the territory.”
Tindall will be joined in the jungle by nine other celebrities for the series, which kicks off on November 6. Among them are 80s singer Boy George, DJ Chris Evans, Lioness Jill Scott and ITV newsreader Charlene White. Others will arrive over the course of the series, and comedian Seann Walsh is expected to be one of them.
It is the first year since the pandemic that the show has been made in Australia. In 2020 and 2021, ITV had to use Gwrych Castle near Rhyl in North Wales.
