Zach Shallcross Responds To Fans And Critics Calling Him The ‘Boring Bachelor’: ‘I Think The Fans Will Love It’

ABC debuted season 27 of The Bachelor on Monday night, which already has fans and critics alike calling new Bachelor Zach Shallcross the “Boring Bachelor.”

Shallcross, 26, had already seriously thinned the field of 30 women vying for her heart, sending home 10 women on the first night, the most in 12 years.

Despite the mass deletions, Rolling Stone critic Andrea Marks said she fell asleep during the premiere, and Shallcross responded to claims it’s boring in a new interview with the hollywood reporter Posted after the premiere.

When asked what he’s excited for fans to see as this season unfolds, he thinks fans will be “pleasantly surprised.”

“Fans are going to be pleasantly surprised because right now, probably the number one concern is, ‘Okay, it’s this boring bachelor and there’s going to be no drama,'” he began.

“The reality is that if you’re someone who likes the show because you want people to find true love and a real focus on what it’s supposed to be about, not acting, not this and that, then I think the fans will love it,’ he added.

Shallcross continued: “People don’t necessarily know who I am, and this season they’re going to see everything about me.” It’s the good, the bad, the silly, the side that hasn’t really been shown before. That’s what I’m excited for people to see.

Uncle Pat has given me some advice. Most importantly, he has always been supported. [me] because she knows how overwhelming being on TV can be,” Shallcross said.

“But he always said, ‘Hey, keep a cool head. Don’t let what people say about you dictate how you feel about yourself.’ So that’s been the most important thing,’ he said.
