Zac Efron fans ‘confused’ by actor’s appearance in new Netflix movie with Nicole Kidman as they question his ‘different face’
Fans are once again asking questions about Zac Efron’s appearance after watching his new Netflix film, A Family Affair.
The romantic comedy starring Nicole Kidman and Joey King, as well as a behind-the-scenes look video uploaded to his InstagramThe 36-year-old actor is seen with his noticeably wider jawline and firmer facial features.
“I’m trying to watch #AFamilyAffair with #ZacEfron but I’m way too distracted by what he did to his beautiful face. Why would he do that to himself?” one follower wrote.
Another simply said: ‘WTF did he do to his face???’

Despite his explanation, fans were left questioning Zac’s transformation after watching A Family Affair.
“What happened to Zac Efron’s face? Did he get a bunch of fillers? Up close he looks 50 years old,” one person wrote.
Another added: ‘I can’t be the only one who thinks Zac Efron looks weird with that face… couldn’t concentrate on the movie…
Others defended the star, pointing to his previous surgery following a serious fall years ago.
‘Every month a tweet about Zac Efron’s face goes viral. And every time someone has to explain what happened to his jaw, that he had to have reconstructive surgery, etc., it’s exhausting.’
In November, fans were surprised by his unrecognizable face in an interview he did for Entertainment weekly.
The actor was giving a promotional interview to the magazine at the time for his film The Iron Claw.
“What happened to his face?” one fan wrote, while another called his face “huge.”

Other fans reminded everyone of his previous broken jaw.
In 2022, Zac appeared on the cover of Men’s Health Magazineand explained what had happened to his face – after rumors of plastic surgery had been circulating for a year.
Zac revealed in his interview that he had a nasty accident at home which caused his face to undergo a huge transformation.
The star recalls putting on a pair of socks while running at home, causing him to hit his chin on a granite fountain.
Zac explained that when he was injured, the chewing muscles on the inside of his face and jaw “compensated” for the injury, causing them to grow in size, which was the reason for his remarkable transformation.

The High School Musical star also claimed not to know he was a hot topic on social media and that his unusual jawline had gone viral until his mother called to ask if he’d gone under the knife.
“If I cared so much about what other people thought of me,” he told the magazine, “I absolutely couldn’t do this job.”
In April 2021, Efron trended on Twitter after appearing in a video for Earth Day! The Musical with a more prominent square chin and heavier jawline.
In the clip, Efron enthusiastically calls Bill Nye a “genius” after hearing that he and Justin Bieber were working on a fictional Earth Day musical.
Fans began to suspect that the beautiful star had undergone plastic surgery.
The actor did a promotional interview with the magazine for his upcoming film The Iron Claw, which follows the life of professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich and his family.

Efron’s friend Kyle Sandilands also weighed in, saying the Baywatch star would never do something like that, comparing Efron to an oil painting by one of the old masters.
The Australian radio presenter, who has known Zac for years, denied all speculation at the time during The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“I would know if he had plastic surgery,” Kyle declared, before telling co-host Jackie “O” Henderson that Zac “of course” hadn’t had plastic surgery.
He then went on to say that it would be pointless for the High School Musical heartthrob to undergo surgery since he was already so good-looking.
“It’s like buying a Picasso and letting a child paint over it with his finger. Why bother?” he said bluntly.
