Yvonne Orji still has all the way to go. The insecure star, 39, who revealed she was a virgin in 2017, is still saving herself for marriage.
In an interview with Chelsea Handler on the Best Chelsea podcast When she was promoting the paperback edition of her book Bamboozled By Jesus in early September, her host asked her point-blank, “Are you still a virgin?”
“That’s me,” the Vacation Friends franchise star responded in the interview that went viral.
“Oh my God, I love this!” Chelsea, 48, exclaimed. ‘This is the most original guest we’ve ever had!’ She continued, “And what are you, 39?”
After receiving an affirmative response, the astonished host predicted, “Oh my God, that dam will break one day, baby.”

Chelsea told her, “You’ll reach your sexual peak when you start having sex, so yeah, you’ll probably need some men.”
The savvy stand-up laughed as she joked, “Yvonne has gone from virgin to polyamory.”
In the podcast’s question-and-answer period, where fans write or call to ask for advice, Yvonne said: ‘What happens to a lot of women who wait… they feel like it’s The Scarlet Letter, you know – ‘ what if you want to have sex with me, or what should I say, what if he doesn’t like me when I tell him I’m a virgin?”

The Emmy nominee — who spoke about her experiences growing up as an immigrant in the United States after her family moved to Maryland from Nigeria — said it was God who told her to pursue comedy.
“When I got my master’s degree in public health, there was a pageant called the Miss Nigeria American pageant,” she said. She came in with some friends.
‘Two weeks before the election they said: “What is your talent?”
She replied, “I’m a child of immigrants, I don’t have one.”
“I’m like, ‘What the hell?'”

“I can’t screw it up because again, the Nigerian in me says, ‘we have to be excellent,’ and I prayed… by then I had been in a relationship with God for five or six years.
“I was like, ‘Hey God, I really need a solid…'” she explained of her call to The Almighty.
She said, “God said, ‘Do comedy.’ As if I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit saying, “Do comedy.”
The Night School star was hesitant to follow the advice, but said God told her, “You’re either going to learn to trust me, or you’re not going to learn.”

After spending the next two weeks writing down what she found “funny about the dual identity of being Nigerian and American,” people laughed when she delivered her set.
That gave her the courage to focus on a career in entertainment instead of medicine.
In April, Yvonne signed a first look deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop scripted drama and comedy series for cable and streaming.
“As I laid out my vision for shows that connect the entire diaspora, the excitement I faced let me know this was the right home for me this season,” she wrote alongside the announcement on social media.
