The United States’ starting line-up has been revealed for Monday’s World Cup opener against Wales, and Gregg Berhalter isn’t holding too many surprises ahead of Qatar’s Group B fixture.
The biggest news for the Americans is the inclusion of 19-year-old Yunus Musah, who becomes the first teenager to start a World Cup match for the US.
Gio Reyna, whose father once started for the USMNT, was on the list of the American substitutes for Monday’s game.

The USA has one of the youngest teams in the tournament with 32 teams. Three of the Americans – Reyna, Joe Scally and Musah – were just 11 years old when the national team last played a World Cup game.
DeAndre Yedlin, a 29-year-old defender, is the only remnant of the US team that was eliminated by Belgium in the second round eight years ago. Yedlin, Christian Pulisic, Kellyn Acosta and Tim Ream are the only four players in the roster when it failed to qualify for Russia.
