The partner of Yummy Mummies TV star Maria DiGeronimo will have to wait and see if he faces trial over an accusation that he committed “a prohibited act involving human biological material.”
Carlos Vannini was listed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday when his case was adjourned for negotiations ahead of a possible pre-trial conference in August.
The 39-year-old told the Daily Mail Australia in April that he knew nothing about the charges or the alleged victim and has still not made a plea.
Carlos rose to fame with Yummy Mummies for spoiling fiancée Maria with luxury goods while running Signature Cut Barbershop in South Australia’s capital.

He is charged with committing a prohibited act involving human biological material against another man in Nailsworth in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on January 29 last year.
According to court police, Carlos spat at the man and “spit in the victim’s left forearm.”
On March 23, Carlos was summoned to appear in court and on April 11, the case went to trial for the first time.
When contacted by Daily Mail Australia prior to that listing, Carlos said, ‘What are you talking about, I have no court and nothing has been charged, what are my charges?’
“What is a prohibited act involving human biological material???? I don’t know what you’re talking about…” he wrote.
Carlos said he did not know the alleged victim named in the court documents and declined an invitation from Daily Mail Australia to show him the charge sheet.
“My lawyer will handle it,” he wrote.
Carlos has since not responded to requests for comment.

Maria and Carlos were the most controversial couple on Yummy Mummies which aired on Seven Network in 2017 and 2018 before being shown on Netflix.
The program followed wealthy mothers-to-be as they supported each other through pregnancy and parenthood. It was slammed by critics and poorly reviewed.
Episode one of the first season drew 755,000 viewers nationwide before that figure crashed to 207,000 in the eighth episode.
One reviewer called the program “fabricated, contrived, boring, meaningless, pointless tripe.”
Another wrote, “To call Yummy Mummies car crash television is to underestimate how gaudy, stupid, weird, poorly executed and dutifully offensive it is.”
Seven’s website stated that Maria was “privileged to be a well-groomed woman and live a glamorous lifestyle financed by her partner Carlos, a hairdresser.”
Carlos and Maria were known for their love of designer clothes and luxury cars. In one episode, Carlos spent over $20,000 on Maria.
In another, Maria celebrated daughter Valentina’s impending arrival with a $4,000 Versace-themed baby shower.
Network Seven’s website for Yummy Mummies described Maria as “privileged to be a well-groomed woman and live a glamorous lifestyle funded by her partner Carlos, a hairdresser”
After the ceremony, Carlos presented Maria with a $7,000 “bouquet” and jewelry worth $15,000.
“I know you don’t like flowers,” he told Maria. “So I bought you a bunch of money.”
When Maria said Carlos worked as a “part-time” hairdresser, the motorcycle enthusiast took to Instagram and said he spent 45 hours a week at Signature Cut Barbershop.
Cosmopolitan called Maria the “spiciest and most extravagant cast member … and her lifestyle, quite frankly, really confuses us.”
“The wages of a part-time hairdresser don’t seem to match the couple’s obsession with labels.”
Despite being Yummy Mummies’ biggest stars, the pair did not return for the second season, with Carlos claiming that Maria “wasn’t portrayed accurately” in season one.
“Initially, we agreed to the show under the assumption that it would be an ‘observational documentary’ where we understood we would live our lives with the added extra camera to document it,” Carlos said at the time.
“But … that wasn’t the case at all.”
Carlos and Maria announced their split in September 2018, saying their performance on the program was partly responsible for the end of the four-year relationship.
“The pressure and judgments of the public took their toll to some extent.” Carlos told Adelaide Now.
“The pressures of the show and the producers’ expectations during the pregnancy and after Valentina was born with the TV crew around all the time didn’t provide the bonding time as a family we needed.”
The split didn’t last long, and according to court documents, Carlos and Maria still live in the four-bedroom house in Northeast Adelaide’s Golden Grove that was featured on Yummy Mummies.
They also now have a son, Cartel.
