A deeply religious couple has been charged with the alleged torture and murder of a young boy in one of the ‘most confrontational’ scenes detectives have ever seen.
The father of the seven-month-old son, Reinhardt Bosch, 33, and his wife, 22, were charged Thursday night after police were called to their home on Mount Samson Road in Yugar, northwestern Brisbane, at about 6:45 am.
Investigators say the couple’s religious beliefs will be part of the investigation.
The identity of the woman is not yet known.

Queensland Police were called to a home on Mount Samson Road in Brisbane’s northwest Brisbane, Mount Samson Road, where the toddler was found dead around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
“From what I’ve seen, the kid wasn’t neglected in terms of feeding or anything like that, but it’s quite confrontational,” said Chief Inspector David Jackman of Queensland Police.
“It certainly catches on. I’ve been a detective for 30 years and it’s one of the most confrontational scenes I’ve seen.
“The child was found in the house, but where in the house, I dare not say.”
Investigators are also investigating how long the boy had been dead before Bosch called an ambulance, with the baby reportedly dead as early as Wednesday morning.
Bosch and his partner were questioned all day at the Ferny Grove Police Station before they were both charged with murder and torture.
The pair will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
Detective Inspector David Jackman said the scene was ‘one of the most confrontational’ he’s seen in his 30 years on the job
On Bosch’s Twitter – which has since been deleted – his bio quotes the verse from Romans 8.28: “And we know that God makes all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.”
Detectives go back in the family’s history and speak to relatives as part of their investigation.
The Queensland Police Department has set up Operation Uniform Salwood to investigate the death.
Anyone with relevant information is requested to contact the police immediately.
