You’ve been decorating your Christmas tree all wrong! Influencer causes a sensation by claiming most people don’t know the correct way to hang baubles
A woman has sent TikTok into crisis by demonstrating the ‘correct’ way to hang Christmas tree baubles – claiming the vast majority of people have been doing it wrong.
The 11 seconds clamp was shared by a female TikToker from Florida, who goes by the handle @sunshinethedoggo, and quickly gained more than 42,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
Instead of hanging the baubles individually, the ornament hack involves tying them in groups of four or five before attaching them to the Christmas tree.
The woman recommends using a pipe cleaner or flexible wire to connect baubles of different sizes, claiming that “it looks so much better” when they hang from the branches.
Her new technique has caused a stir among viewers. While one person praised the method, writing: ‘This is BRILLIANT!!!’, another individual explained: ‘My tree is full of memories. Ornaments from holidays or special occasions. It’s not about aesthetics.’
Instead of hanging the baubles individually, the ornament hack involves tying them in groups of four or five before attaching them to the Christmas tree.
The TikTok video, titled Ornament Hack For Your Christmas Tree, opens with the words “Common Mistakes.”
The advice ‘Don’t hang your ornaments like that’ then appears along with an image of a single iridescent bauble hanging from a tree.
“Do this instead: Group multiple ornaments on a piece of pipe cleaner,” the decorator continues, as the decorator strings the baubles together to create a cluster.
The woman places the largest ornament in the center, with smaller ones on either side, with white, silver and gold tones.
She then secures the loop by tying the pipe cleaner at the top before placing it on a tree branch, claiming that “it looks so much better.”
The influencer suggested hanging your Christmas baubles in bunches on the tree, instead of hanging individual decorations on the branches
The finished product appears to create a fuller appearance on the Christmas tree.
Scores of viewers flocked to praise the woman for sharing the hack, with one commenting: ‘This is BRILLIANT!!!’
A second agreed, writing: ‘Very clever idea.’
While another individual said: ‘I’m going to try this! Looks nice.’
Someone else wrote: ‘Such a game changer.’
Another person agreed, saying: ‘Very nice! That’s how I do mine too. I like a really full tree’
However, others were less impressed and preferred a traditional method of tree decorating.
One simply wrote: ‘No thanks.’
Another explained: ‘My tree is full of memories. Ornaments from holidays or special occasions. It’s not about aesthetics.’
Meanwhile, someone joked: ‘Pipe cleaner? Let me go back to the fifties for a moment.
And someone else added: ‘Who needs that when you have a toddler who wants to decorate himself so he’s already in the bushes.’
One viewer, who wished she had watched the video sooner, admitted: “I put my tree up yesterday or I would have done this.”
