YouTuber Tiago Eugenio has died after being in a coma for 80 days following a horrific car accident.
The Portuguese star was seriously injured after the Algarve motorway accident on June 23, in which the 28-year-old had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters.
Eugenio was rushed to Faro hospital, where he spent 80 days in a coma in intensive care, but the star died on Thursday morning as a result of his injuries.
His mother confirmed the news as she paid an emotional tribute to her ‘great warrior’ who ‘fought for 80 days’.
She wrote on social media Thursday: “One of the things I always asked God for was that I would never have to experience such pain. I want to let you know that my love, my Tiago, left this morning.

The Portuguese star was seriously injured at the end of June after the accident on the Algarve highway, in which the 28-year-old had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters.
‘He fought for 80 days. A great warrior, but God wanted it that way. I can only accept it with immense pain, which destroys my heart.’
She added, “To you, my beautiful love, mother just wants you to leave in peace.
‘Your grandmothers will surely be waiting for you, part of me will go with you. I will always love you. Someday we will meet.’
Eugenio, who had 161,000 followers on Instagram and 8,600 YouTube subscribers, was left in critical condition after the accident on the A22 highway near the village of Boliqueime on June 23.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 5 a.m. and found Eugenio trapped in the wreckage of the destroyed car. reports. Firefighters carefully removed the star, who was unconscious, before taking him to Faro Hospital.
Eugenio, who had 161,000 followers on Instagram and 8,600 YouTube subscribers, was left in critical condition after the accident on the A22 highway near the village of Boliqueime on June 23.
Eugenio spent 80 days in an induced coma before passing away on Thursday, as his friends joined his mother to pay tribute to the YouTuber.
A friend posted a photo of herself and her husband with Eugenio on their wedding day with the message: ‘My dear friend, you will never be forgotten, you will always be in my heart, rest in peace my friend.
‘I leave here a memory of a day so important to me that you were part of, I thank you for everything you did on this day. See you one day my friend.”
Another friend wrote: ‘I would like to send my condolences to all of Tiago’s family, friends and fans! I’m still in shock.
“He was one of the first people who believed in me from the beginning. And knowing that we have lost a wonderful person today leaves my heart in my hands.
‘I had already thanked him several times, but I would like to thank him again for how important it was for him to believe in me. I know you will always be there to support me and give me strength every day. Rest in peace.’
Eugenio was born in São Brás de Alportel, a city in Portugal’s Algarve, and became a YouTube star after starting his channel four years ago.
