NBA fans watching Game 1 of the Heat-Celtics series on Wednesday night received an unexpected rejection from YouTube TV, as the streaming service crashed in the game’s fourth quarter.
As the Heat held on to a lead they built with a massive 46-25 third quarter, viewers began complaining online that there were issues with the broadcast.
Some saw one error message which read, “TNT is temporarily unavailable.”
Others apparently repeatedly got to see the trailer for the “Little Mermaid” remake.
Anyway, YouTube acknowledged the issue at 10:43 ET and said their team was “working on a fix.”

But not all fans were able to watch when the YouTube TV stream crashed
The problem didn’t prove to be short-lived, as the next update came at 12:22 a.m. — well after Miami clinched the 123-116 win — and it wasn’t a positive one.
“We are sorry to inform you that you may also be experiencing an issue watching multi-channel content via YTV – we are very sorry and we will keep you updated as soon as we have an update,” a message from the team YouTube account read on Twitter.
And fans let the video streaming giant know they weren’t happy about missing the game’s ending.
“I’m a Celtics fan, I missed the last 4 minutes of the game, I only pay for YouTube TV because I want to be able to watch live sports,” said one said.
YouTube acknowledged the problem with the stream at 10:43 ET and said they were working to fix it
“I need a refund for the whole month and for the next month as a sign of goodwill or I’ll cancel and go back to cable.”
“We all miss the game. But I’ll tell you what, watching that Little Mermaid trailer for 10 minutes now I’m HYPED on that joint, ‘another joked.
At 4:27 a.m. ET, YouTube said the issue had finally been resolved.
Game 2 between the Heat and the Celtics, which fans hope to see undisturbed, kicks off Friday at 8:30 ET.
