The death of YouTube personality Ben Potter at the age of 40 resulted from a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on I-25 near Fort Collins, Colorado.
Colorado State Patrol officials said TMZ Potter succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, during which he was wearing a seat belt.
Authorities told the outlet that the Toyota 4Runner SUV Potter “crossed the other side of the highway” before sliding off the right shoulder and rolling over several times.
Potter was the only person in the SUV involved in the incident, authorities told the newspaper, noting that no other vehicles were involved.
The crash remained under investigation, police told the newspaper, adding that there was “no indication that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed were involved” in the fatal incident.

Potter’s wife Nathalie described her husband’s death as an “unfortunate accident” in a statement on the Comicstorian Twitter page.
“Two days ago, on June 8, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident,” Nathalie said.
Noting his work as a content creator, she said, “To many of you, he was a comic, interpreting stories from multiple different mediums.
“To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for.”
Nathalie cited her late husband’s “loving and genuine” nature “as a husband, son, brother, friend or even just a stranger.”
She added: “He was someone who listened and made time for his loved ones. He went out of his way to make everyone laugh and make sure everything was okay.
“He was our rock and he reassured his loved ones when they needed it.”
Nathalie revealed her own personal feelings during this tragic time.

“He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family,” Nathalie said. “I have so many things to figure out, but first I need to grieve.
‘I ask that you respect my privacy as well as that of others. Right now my priority is to preserve everything he built and I have no plans beyond that.
The late content creator’s wife said his YouTube channel was “one of his greatest achievements” and that she planned to keep it going in due course.
“While we all need time to grieve him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end this way,” she said. “Ben has spent over a decade spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies.
‘It was his love for exciting stories and well-written characters that led him to YouTube.’
She said she and Potter’s colleagues want to “keep that going” and honor the late creator “by continuing to tell great stories of great people, and by keeping the memory of our own superhero alive.”
She concluded by saying, “We supported each other in everything we wanted to do and I don’t plan on stopping now.”
