John Farnham’s son James posts heartwarming tribute to his dad ahead of his 74th birthday as legendary singer recovers from throat cancer surgery: ‘You’re an inspiration’

John Farnham’s son James Farnham has paid a touching tribute to his father for the music legend’s 74th birthday.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, James gave fans a glimpse of a touching series of vacation photos of father and son.

The message from James comes as John is still recovering from treatment for oral cancer, which was diagnosed last August.

James, who has been an outspoken public supporter of his father throughout his strenuous health journey, added a lengthy caption to the post.

“Congratulations Dad,” James began.

“You just had one of the hardest 12 months, and you busted it!”

‘It doesn’t matter if it’s a concert stage or the stage of life, you always give your all for it no matter what! I am so thankful for that.

You are an inspiration to me and I am sure to many others. Thanks for everything. You are the best and today is all about you!!

James signed off the tribute with a simple, “Love ya heaps and heaps!!”

He also included photos of himself and John vacationing in Africa between 2011 and 2019.

Fans and followers later filled James’ Instagram message board with congratulations on his birthday.

“Happy birthday to Australia’s dad!” one fan wrote.

Happy birthday Jan. You are the best,” another posted, while another follower gushed, “Happy birthday to the man who brings so much joy to the world.”

The legendary Australian singer was diagnosed with oral cancer last August and underwent a 12-hour operation to have a tumor removed.

In May, John’s family gave a hopeful update on the health of the beloved artist, weeks after he was rushed to hospital with a respiratory infection.

The ‘You’re The Voice’ singer has since made a full recovery and is now ‘at ease’ as he continues ongoing treatment.
