You’re peeing wrong! Shocking video shows exactly what men should ‘aim for’ to avoid the stomach-turning risk of back splashing

A heartbreaking viral video has revealed the serious mistakes men make when using the toilet, leaving them exposed to potentially harmful infections.

According to the clip, which has been viewed 32 million times on X, splashing water can have nasty consequences, sending urine and feces particles flying across the bathroom, even so high that they end up on your toothbrush.

However, by targeting specific areas in the toilet, you can reduce this splashing.

The video explained how men who urinate standing up usually “aim for four spots.”

While hitting the back of the toilet may seem like the best option, it is actually the “most destructive option.”

A video that has been viewed more than 30 million times shows the most hygienic way to go to the toilet.

According to the video, the backwash can be up to 7,550 drops of urine, due to the force with which the liquid hits the porcelain.

If you spray the center of the toilet, approximately 372 drops of urine will end up on the back wall.

The video further explained that urine particles can reach a height of 3 to 6 inches. However, if they collide and break up into more droplets, the urine can travel a distance of up to 3 feet.

There’s a heated debate raging online over whether men should stand or sit when they have to pee after X-post “non-aesthetic things,” the explanation goes.

‘Why Men Shouldn’t Pee Standing Up’ the video was the caption, beginning with a man using the toilet.

If feces have recently fallen into the toilet, the backsplash can spread urine droplets containing harmful E. coli bacteria across a large area of your bathroom, landing on toothbrushes, toilet paper, and even towels that you use after showering.

Researchers suggest that sitting is the best option for men.

A 2023 YouGov survey found that men in Britain are not urinating in this supposedly effective, health-conscious way.

A third of men in the country said they never sat down to urinate, making it one of the highest percentages of all the countries surveyed.

In Germany, 60 percent of men were playing, while in Britain this was only 24 percent.

Scientists claim that it is not only more hygienic, but also better for your health.

Dutch researchers from Leiden University Medical Center discovered that sitting can be beneficial because it allows the bladder to empty faster and more completely.

When you stand, the muscles in your pelvis and spine are activated, making it harder to remove excess fluid from your body.

Sitting to urinate helps prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that causes difficulty urinating in old age.

Research shows that approximately 80 percent of men in their 80s suffer from it.

Despite this, a YouGov survey found that British men over the age of 55 are the least likely to urinate sitting down, with 40 percent refusing.

‘BPH is caused by a change in the hormonal environment of the prostate, particularly from the early 40s onwards,’ says Gerald Collins, a urological surgeon at Alexandra Hospital told the Telegraph.

‘There is an increase in a certain breakdown product of testosterone, which causes the prostate cells to develop and become larger.

‘As a result, men notice that they can urinate much better while sitting down.’
