Your next affordable foldable phone could be this Moto Razr
Don’t expect any major changes for the next-gen versions of the Motorola Razr, as a new render has hinted that the phone will look very similar to its predecessor, at least at first glance.
This comes from a claimed official report obtained by MSPoweruserwhich shows a foldable Razer smartphone in a flip-phone orientation, with a design that bears a striking similarity to the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.
This Motorola Razr reportedly carries the model number XT-2453-3 and has been codenamed “Glory” by Motorola. It will reportedly be a follow-up to the Razor 40 Ultra, the more expensive version of Motorola’s two current foldable phones. While the design of the potential upcoming phone doesn’t appear to be a drastic redesign on the outside, we can expect the internals to be overhauled to be more in line with those of 2024. best phones so far.
The chipset hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could be a likely choice considering the previous Razr 40 used the Snapdragon Gen 1 processor. If this chipset is used, it can provide a significant boost to processing power and battery efficiency.
If accurate, the rendering shows that it will be available in a similar dual-tone gray and black design as previous models and will feature a dual camera system just like its predecessor. However, not much other information can be gleaned from the image.
According to MSPoweruserthis latest Razr will be available through Verizon Wireless, although pricing isn’t known yet, and no official release date has been announced either, but it’s believed it could launch in the first half of 2024.
Motorola’s flip phones became incredibly popular in the early 2000s due to their unique foldable design. Modern smartphones only saw an end to this trend in 2019 when the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series brought back this design, Motorola followed up in 2020 with its own foldable Motorola Razr.
Motorola currently has two foldable phones, the Razr 40 and the Razr 40 Ultra. These foldable phones face stiff competition from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Google Pixel Fold or OnePlus Open in this ever-growing market, making it a challenge to stand out from the crowd.
To see how the new Motorola Razr compares to previous models, we’ll have to wait until more information becomes available, but we’ll keep you posted and provide a more in-depth review in the future.
