Your friends can dunk on your dating choices a lot easier with this new Tinder feature
Tinder’s new Matchmaker feature is perfect for users who like to involve their friends (or other dating committees) in their love life choices. Now Tinder users can invite friends and family to view and even recommend potential matches, regardless of whether or not they have a Tinder profile.
As someone who likes to get involved in my friends’ Tinder drama and discuss potential matches via screenshots and phone calls, the Matchmaker feature is not only a huge time saver, but also a great way to steer my friends away from… doubtful choices.
According to the Edgethe feature is currently available in 15 countries including the US, UK, Australia, France and more, and we can expect a global rollout in the coming months.
Playing Tinder is much more fun
You can start a Matchmaker session from a potential match’s profile or by going to the app settings and creating a shareable link.
Your friends will then have 24 hours to recommend profiles before the session ends, but don’t worry; your trusted matchmakers cannot send your potential new love messages on your behalf. Once their time is up, you can view which matches your team has proposed. These profiles are then marked as ‘recommended’ in the app.
For some, Tinder has always been a team sport — When I was in college, I had a routine with an old roommate called “Playing Tinder,” where we would scroll through different profiles and hit on each other or — rarely — point out a potential soulmate. And according to Tinder official blog postthe company states that more than 75% of singles surveyed said they discuss their dating lives with friends several times a month – a time-honored tradition!
However, it will make the whole process a lot more intimidating knowing that your potential babes might show you off to their moms, but hopefully it will whip the entire Tinder nation into shape!
