The dead body of a young woman found near State Forests Rd in Scarsdale in Victoria

The body of a young woman has been found on a dirt road near Ballarat in Victoria.

The 23-year-old woman from Clunes was found on Friday near State Forest Rd in Scarsdale, an area surrounded by bushland.

After the discovery of her body, two men were arrested, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from Sevastopol.

They are assisting police with their investigation and the investigation is ongoing.

It is the latest tragedy for Ballarat following the alleged murder of Samantha Murphy and the hunt for her body continues.
