A young man has been tragically killed after a fight outside a Gold Coast pub.
Queensland Police visited RQ’s Tavern in Robina shortly after 10pm on Thursday after reports of an altercation.
A Nerang man, 26, was found at the scene with critical injuries
He was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later.
A second man involved in the brawl is believed to have left the crime scene before police arrived.
Homicide detectives investigate a deadly fight outside RQ’s Tavern on the Gold Coast
The police were alerted shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday evening in the popular tavern in Robina
Inquiries led police to a house in nearby Mermaid Beach, where they arrested a man, also 26, four hours later.
He remains in custody to help the police with their investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
It is unknown at this time if the two men were known to each other.
A murder investigation is now underway.
The detective wants to speak to all witnesses and anyone who has relevant images of the incident.
