The widow of a punk icon has written an exceptionally moving memoir about sex with another punk rocker, and responded to his anger at her revelations by hinting at a sequel.
The book ‘A Year on Earth with Mr. Hell,” written by Young Kim, 52, chronicles her explicit affair with Richard Hell, now 74, a pioneering musician in the 1970s.
Hell, real name Richard Lester Meyers, inspired the look of the 1970s British punk rock band The Sex Pistols. And after the death of Sex Pistols manager Malcom McLaren in 2010, he began a passionate affair with McLaren’s widow Kim.
In the 254-page memoir, Kim takes the reader into the… first ten months of their steamy love affair that started in the winter of 2016.
The first sex scene takes place just a few pages into the memoir after a drunken night together in 2016.
Young remembers Hell “sliding his fingers under the fiery red fabric” of her gauzy bra.
In terms too explicit to reproduce, Young says that Hell looked at the “puddle of stockings and underwear around my ankles” before barking “take them off.”

Richard Hell was described as a rock pioneer and was the author’s subject in her book ‘A Year On Earth With Richard Hell’
She said he made a “mmm” sound “like a happily purring engine” as he performed oral sex on her, with Hells’ “incredible skill” meaning Kim could “feel the orgasm building.”
Their encounter continued, with Kim saying Hell’s foreplay meant she was “transported into convulsive ecstasy” that made her “involuntarily squeal softly in pleasure.”
Hell, who was 22 years her senior, suggested that Kim document some of what they had “done together sexually,” and she did so in vivid, raw detail.
But he is furious that she has since decided to share it with the world.
Her former lover loved what Kim had written early on, when she first shared her first entries, but more than 200 pages later, she couldn’t stop. The book is now the toast of the literary world, with American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis saying he devoured it in one sitting.
However, Hell was not enthusiastic about her work, claiming that he never approved of it and calling it “revenge porn.”

Hell admitted in an email to The New York Times about Kim’s book.
‘How would you feel if you briefly dated someone, including having sex, and it turned out they wrote about it behind your back and ended up publishing that misguided, uncomprehending – but full of false details – account of the affair , with a focus on about sex, with your real name?’
Despite his fears, Kim seemed to have cherished their time together.

“Richard, I have to say, elevates sex to a work of art,” she said.
Although she noted during an earlier interview that she was “kind of a muse for Malcolm.”
She shouted, “Richard is my muse.”
“I’ve never written anything dirty in my life, but I was willing to try,” she wrote in the book’s introduction.
“I sent it and he loved it, just like I loved writing it.”
Kim’s writings quickly turned into a book that received critical acclaim for her raw, honest stories about their intimate relationships, based on her point of view.
The book is dedicated to both of her former loves. “For Malcolm and Richard.”
Another very suggestive entry in her diary reads: ‘He started kissing me again and held me tight before taking half a step back to unzip my dress.’
“He unzipped the dress, just enough to wait for me, just enough to reveal the mercurochrome red mesh bra with black satin straps and bow. He caressed my breasts, sliding his fingers under the bright red fabric and then unclasped the bra at the back,” she wrote.

Many have described her work as a riveting page-turner that they couldn’t put down. And one person described it as “more than a memoir…but truly a modern work of art.”
In a sly move, Kim even hooked up with New York’s Standard Hotel after bragging about having passionate sex with Hell in his ‘sexy’ environs.
Despite the fears of her former lovers, she stuck to her work: ‘In writing this book, I only did what men have unashamedly done since time immemorial (and I don’t think they should apologize): choose my work over my relationship. ‘
She added that she has kept in mind something that artist Michael Heizer once told her: “Any work of art of any value (not a Hallmark card) is going to upset someone.”
