Shocking reason teen girl was tortured for five hours then murdered

A 16-year-old girl was tortured and murdered after she complained about the quality of marijuana sold by Brazilian drug dealers.

Gabriela Pereira is said to have angered dealers by criticizing their weed during a livestream in the city of Cáceres on Monday.

According to Mato Grosso police, the teenager made hand gestures during the livestream related to a rival drug gang, further angering dealers.

Two drug dealers, aged 20 and 24, kidnapped Pereira from her home and took her to another house in the Jardim Primavera neighbourhood.

According to reports, the teenager was tied up and beaten for five hours before she was eventually killed.

Pereira’s body was left on the street in the Nova Era neighborhood.

Police found the home where the victim was tortured and found her burned clothes and other belongings in the backyard. They also found bloodstains on the floor of the home.

One of the suspects was arrested at the residence and confessed to Pereira’s murder.

He gave the authorities information about the whereabouts of his accomplice, who was arrested in the Vitória Régia neighborhood.

Authorities said Pereira made hand gestures pointing to rivals of the dealers who killed her.

The second suspect also admitted to torturing and killing the teenager.

Marlon Nogeira, Mato Grosso Civil police chief and leader of the investigation, told news outlets that Pereira may have had ties to rivals of the dealers, noting that she made hand gestures referring to the other crew in earlier photos.

“The victim criticized live the marijuana used by the faction that ordered her death,” Nogeira said. “They understood that it favored the rival group.”

The suspects, whose names have not been released, are all charged with murder, torture and criminal organization.
