Don Lemon has claimed he can’t say why Elon Musk canceled his new show on
Speaking to OutFront’s Erin Burnett on Tuesday, Lemon, 58, raised questions about the show’s abrupt ending — after just one unaired episode.
The host’s old network even produced never-before-seen segments from the canceled program, in which a visibly irritated Musk, 52, pushed back on questions about free speech and white nationalist conspiracy theories that had been prevalent on the platform.
The short-lived series, called ‘The Don Lemon Show’, was canceled shortly afterwards, leaving Lemon without a platform again.
He outlined the meeting in a scathing statement on Tuesday, before giving more details to longtime friend Burnett. It was his first appearance on CNN since his firing, with Brass reportedly paying him more than $24 million.

The meeting, which aired Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, began with Burnett asking point-blank if the show was being canceled.
“That’s honestly a good question for Elon Musk,” Lemon said Tuesday night.
‘What happened? Don’t know.’
He continued, “As I said in my statement, I had a very good feeling about the interview.
“I said to him as we were doing the interview – and it was tense at times – I said to him, ‘I think it’s good for people to see people like you and me, who have different world views, coming together and talking.
‘As he says: have freedom of speech.
“Freedom of speech is only important if someone doesn’t like you, or I would say someone who doesn’t have the same point of view is someone if they are allowed to speak freely and express their point of view.
“Apparently that doesn’t matter to Elon Musk, it’s just for talking points for him or for rhetoric because it doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to him. Questions about him from people like me.’
