I didn’t need any other reason to love Indiana Jones and the Great Circlebut an unexpected feature has quickly made it one of my favorite games of 2024. Early in your adventure you will probably notice a number of fascist propaganda posters in the towns and villages you visit. While you can’t get rid of these eyesores at first, you can burn them once you purchase a lighter! The game doesn’t advertise this particular feature, but I’m thrilled that the developers added this extra bit of immersion to a game that’s already packed with details.
You’ll unlock the lighter naturally throughout your journey, as it’s needed to complete some puzzles in the game’s various crypts and tombs. With this tool you can light torches, fuses, fuel barrels, and apparently many other things. If you haven’t grabbed the lighter yet, you can get it by visiting the seller at the Giza Marketplace.
As if I needed extra incentive to start burning Benito Mussolini posters in Vatican City, each poster you destroy gives you a small allocation of adventure points that you can spend on permanent upgrades. A word of warning though: just like in real life, burning propaganda posters will quickly incur the ire of any henchmen in the immediate area, so be prepared to run or fight once you’ve completed your unsanctioned arson.
