- Four unwanted mothers, taken in by a charity, received more than twenty puppies
These cute little puppies playing among piles of presents and cuddling on blankets are a picture of pure joy.
But behind their adorable romp lies a sad story – because they were abandoned before they were even born.
Now their guardians at Many Tears Animal Rescue are hoping to find them a new home for Christmas.
Their four unwanted mothers were taken in while they were pregnant and shortly afterwards the shelter also cared for a litter of eight Weimaraner puppies, two litters of Cavachons (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel-Bichon Frize crosses) totaling twelve puppies, and one Bichon puppy.
They are all about seven weeks old – except the Bichon, who is about five weeks old and is called Candy.

Sylvia Van Atta, who runs the center near Llanelli in South Wales, has put out an appeal to potential owners, saying: 'It may all look Ho-Ho-Ho but it's more wee, wee, wee .
'The market for dogs has disappeared due to the cost of living and more and more are being abandoned.
'We have been taking in twice as many dogs as usual lately. Even when the mothers are pregnant, some breeders and private owners don't want to keep them because of the cost of raising them and vet bills – it's heartbreaking.
“I pray that we will find loving new homes for them to enjoy for the rest of their lives.”
The charity currently cares for more than 400 dogs but is facing high bills and would welcome any financial support. To request one of the dogs at home or to donate, visit www.manytearsrescue.org.
