Made in Montana spotlights hardworking Montana landowners who are “actively keeping the spirit of the American West alive.”
The video, narrated by Grimes, honors the unsung heroes who keep the land thriving and fertile with food, and preserved for future generations.
Captured in the small community of Bitterroot Valley, Montana, the creative creation showcases the value of the craft, the farm and ranch community, and local families building legacies through hard work – qualities that drew Grimes and his family to the area and continues to inspire his career as an actor and musician.

In the short film, local community members highlight the importance of land conservation in the Bitterroot Valley and how it impacts their daily lives as farmers and ranchers.
With support from Montana nonprofit Bitter Root Land Trust (BRLT), private landowners and the community benefit from special conservation tools to help achieve their land conservation and stewardship goals.
By working with willing landowners to voluntarily place easements on their properties, BRLT helps protect working farms and ranches, wildlife habitat, and water resources, including clean drinking water, for future generations.
In addition to the “Made in Montana” creation, Carhartt’s Montana series – a line inspired by the hardworking people of the American West – has introduced new gear with the latest innovations that capture the spirit of Western style and deliver on Carhartt’s iconic durability and functionality.
New pieces, made within Carhartt’s global supply chain, include jackets, outerwear, t-shirts and midlayers to expand the Montana range’s offering for every work condition.
To further support the exemplary attitude of America’s farmers who are rolling up their sleeves, Carhartt is contributing $350,000 to The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a global environmental nonprofit, to support efforts in land conservation.
“It’s easy to mindlessly go about your day, not thinking about the work it takes to put food on your plate, but when you live in a place like this, it’s in your face all the time, your see the people out there doing it,” Grimes said in a quote shared with DailyMail.com

In Montana, TNC preserves working lands to support current and future generations of farm families by focusing on the benefits to natural systems and local communities.
Through its grass bank program – an innovative community partnership that provides ranchers with grasslands to graze their livestock in exchange for conservation actions on their own properties – TNC has had a positive impact on conservation on 300,000 acres in Montana’s northern Great Plains.
“Carhartt is excited about our continued partnership with The Nature Conservancy to support their efforts on the ground in Montana and our home state of Michigan,” said Susan Hennike, chief brand officer at Carhartt.
“Their locally implemented conservation solutions will only strengthen the legacy of the hardworking generational farmers and ranchers who live on and depend on the land.”
