The Baskin, Louisiana native revealed the length of their romance about a month after they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards on May 11 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
‘He’s been around for a while. I just decided to make him wait two and a half years,” said the Things a Man Oughta Know artist.

The latest: Wilson says she’s been in a relationship with Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges, 27, for over two years and will appear on The Bobby Bones Show in June
“He knows what it’s like to chase a dream because he’s done it for himself,” said Wilson. “He was in the NFL. He literally tried it out for the Steelers and made it and had a great run with them. I went to LA Rams and did that.”
Wilson, who played Abby in four episodes of Paramount Plus drama Yellowstone last year, described Hodges as “good as gold.”
She continued, “Supports me, would never come between anything I’m trying to do. He says, “Go get it, girl.” And I made him wait for a while. I mean… it’s been a little over two years now.’
Wilson opened up about an April concert she played in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania opening for Luke Combs, where she wore a Steelers jersey with Hodges’ name on it, sparking speculation that they were seeing each other.
“The funny thing is we had literally been playing in Pittsburgh for a few weeks before the show and me and my band were all wearing Duck Hodges jerseys,” Wilson said. “And that’s how a few rumors started.”
When the concert took place, fans took to social media to let Hodges know about the fashion statement.
He said in a response tweet, “Did she really do that?!?! You are all lying!!!! @laineywilson holla to me!!!”
Wilson replied, “This is me, hollerin,” to which he replied, “OH.MY.GOD hello.”

In the interview, Wilson said that Hodges gets along well with her country music colleagues.
“It’s so great — I mean, he’s buddies with all my buddies,” Wilson said. “He’ll FaceTime me and he’ll be with HARDY or he’ll be with Cole Swindell and all of them – I’m like, ‘Can you please stop taking my friends?'”
In the chat, Wilson also explained where Hodges’ duck nickname comes from.
His college football coach said, “You’re one of the best quarterbacks I’ve ever worked with.” And you remind me a lot of one of my favorite quarterbacks I worked with years ago, and we called him Duck,” she said. “And so he and the team kind of started calling him Duck.”
