Anthony Rizzo wore a Taylor Swift hoodie upon his arrival at Yankee Stadium on Friday.
Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was released on Friday, and it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of buzz about it – including in the sports world.
The 14-time Grammy winner’s latest release is making waves beyond her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and the NFL.
Rizzo, the Yankees first baseman, showed support for Swift’s new album by wearing a black hoodie with a collage of the singer’s photos before his team hosted the Tampa Bay Rays.
At the end of nine innings, the Bronx Bombers earned a 5-3 victory over their visitors.

Rizzo is no stranger to referencing Swift on game days. Last summer, Rizzo used Swift’s hit “Ready for It?” as his walk-up before going 4-4 with a home run in a win over the Royals. His actions put an end to a slump that had hung over him for more than two months.
“Taylor Swift, it’s definitely her summer,” Rizzo joked in July. “She helps the economy in every city she goes to.”
ESPNs Pat McAfee was among the sports personalities celebrating Swift’s album. During Friday’s edition of the Pat McAfee Show, the host raved about Swift and Kelce in light of the album release. TTPD also comes just over two months after Kelce captured his third Super Bowl title.
“If you even just woke up this morning, you just listened to a brand new Taylor Swift album. Two albums,” McAfee said. ‘Surprise! I tour the world and sell out every stadium on earth.

Rizzo was limited to 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 99 games last season in his fourth season in New York.
Before Friday’s game, the three-time All-Star was hitting .240. The Yankees improved to 14-6 with the win and lead the American League East. Meanwhile, the Orioles and Blue Jays are in second and third place, respectively.
