New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is headed for a trip to the injured list due to the foot injury he sustained against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, according to reports.
Judge injured the toe when it hit the concrete base of the outfield fence as he ran through the wall toward the bullpen while making a spectacular grab against the Dodgers.
The 31-year-old outfielder has been diagnosed with a bruise and sprained toe ligament, according to manager Aaron Boone.
Earlier in the day, Boone had announced that Judge would in any event miss Tuesday night’s game and said Judge had an appointment with the doctors later that evening.
The four-time All-Star underwent a test on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.

During his speech on Sunday, Judge did not rule out a broken toe.
‘When I’m on [the injured list], I’m working on it. But I try not to be. Who knows?’ judge said. “I don’t have an answer yet.”
Pitcher Gerrit Cole called the concrete ledge at the base of the wall “rather dangerous” after Saturday’s game.
Boone hoped it would be something MLB or the Dodgers organization would investigate for future safety concerns.
“Hopefully that’s something they’re looking at,” Boone said. “I think all these places are doing their best to make it as safe as possible.”
“But to me it looks like that cement at the bottom could be filled up a little bit. Hopefully it’s something they at least look at and consider, and I’m sure they will.”
The Yankees also announced that starting pitcher Nestor Cortes has a shoulder strain and will be reassessed in 10 days.
