Yankee fans rage after Aaron Judge puts in another dismal World Series performance: ‘Cost us a ring’

It’s obvious to all and so painful to New York Yankees fans: Aaron Judge capped off a terrible postseason with an even worse World Series through three games.

The Yankees are on the brink of playoff elimination heading into Tuesday’s Game 4, hoping not to be swept in the baseball championships.

Through twelve postseason games in 2024, Judge has six hits and just two home runs in 43 at-bats, for a batting average of a dismal .140.

Those numbers drop to 1-for-12 in the World Series, with Judge’s lone hit coming in Game 1 against Los Angeles for a .083 batting average.

In the Bronx, the other four boroughs and the rest of New York’s fans are fed up with Judge’s disappointing postseason. No. 99 is far from the only underperforming Yankee, but he is the most notable.

“Someone tell Aaron Judge this game is pointless so he can get a hit,” famed New York stand-up comedian Sam Morril said on social media.

“I love Aaron Judge for all the moments he gave us, but I don’t think we’ll ever forget this postseason. It tarnished his MVP and his legacy.”

‘It was a nice year until this series. Aaron Judge’s legacy was shot here.”

“Aaron Judge just ruined his Yankee career in twelve games. He did. He cost us a RING. A championship. #28. He’s the reason we don’t hang a banner for #28. He will NEVER have the same sparkly haze again. He will never be the same again. 33 next season and our future doesn’t look bright. That’s it. He had his chance. He screwed up.”

The Yankees, who have won an MLB-best 27 championships while the second-place Cardinals have 11, have not added to their World Series trophy case since 2009. That has only happened twice since the turn of the century.

Judge is 32 and playing in his first World Series. Yankees fans need to balance seeing their biggest star have an MVP-like season before the playoffs.

Of course, the Yankees and Judge can turn their fortunes around against Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers.

Of the previous 24 World Series games where one team took a 3-0 lead, only three did not end in a sweep. Nobody made it to a Game 6.

History doesn’t seem to be on Judge’s side. He will need at least three at-bats to end his massive slump.
