About 70 percent of users mention problems with the app, 17 percent can’t log into accounts and 13 say there is a problem with the server connection, according to Down detector.

‘I open the app and it closes after about 5 seconds. The app does not stay open! Maddening,” wrote Annette Young on Downdetector.

Terri Jackson also commented on the site, saying that the app logs them out for even a second when they access their account.

Yahoo Mail users have also shared their frustrations on X.

One user complained that their email service went down in the middle of a workday, while others asked if “anyone else is having trouble logging into Yahoo Mail.”

Yahoo was once the most popular email service in the US when it launched in 1994 and pioneered the dozens of platforms online today.

It is mainly used by Generation Z and Millennials, with 60 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 24 and the rest between 25 and 44.

Yahoo Mail was the most popular service between 2002 and 2010.

But more than 227 million people still use it to send and receive emails.
