Xscape ‘won’t break up as LaTocha Scott distances himself from group after promoter dispute’
R&B group Xscape is not splitting up despite LaTocha Scott splitting from the band after a dispute over a promoter, according to a new report.
The girl group, made up of Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, LaTocha and Tamika Scott, sparked concerns about the breakup after fans noticed LaTocha, 49, was missing from a poster advertising an upcoming tour. TMZ.
Insiders told the site that LaTocha is still a member of the group, but has stepped back after a disagreement with the band.

The women, who will star in a new reality show due out in March, began to experience conflict after deciding to go on a small tour and selecting a promoter who eventually came into conflict with LaTocha’s husband.
LaTocha, intending to join the tour, asked the group to drop the promoter, but eventually decided to back off when the others agreed to continue using him.
The group also reportedly declined a request from LaTocha to use a different name, saying she wouldn’t join them. They previously went by Xscape 3 after Kandi left to take a break.

Insiders claim LaTocha isn’t communicating with her sister Tamika or the rest of the group, but it looks like they’ll be reuniting next weekend at the upcoming Soul Train Awards, where they’ll be honored as the Lady Of Soul.
Xscape becomes the second group to receive the title, after SWV in 2017, according to Appearance.
Speaking of the honor, Xscape said in a statement, “Considering how important Soul Train is to all of us, we are so grateful to be honored with this year’s ‘Lady of Soul’ Award.

As for their upcoming venture into television, the women will be joining forces with SWV for a multi-part, limited series on Bravo.
The series follows the reunion of the two groups after their Verzuz performance as they prepare for another big show that has the potential to revitalize their careers.
“There’s a lot at stake for these powerhouse women as they navigate different stages in their lives, both personally and professionally,” reads a description on Deadline.
