Xbox will begin refunding players who purchased Redfall’s Bite Back Edition DLC
Since Microsoft closed Arkane Studios, the renowned developer had to cancel upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for co-op looter shooter Redfall.
Now Microsoft is finally offering refunds to players who purchased the game from Redfall Hero Pass, which was available as a separate purchase or included with the Bite Back Edition of the game. The pass was originally intended to bring more playable heroes to the game, in addition to other additional content.
An X/Twitter message from Game Pass tracker (through VGC). The message shows that players are receiving notifications from Xbox that they have been “identified as a Redfall player who purchased the Hero Pass as part of the premium Bite Back Edition or the premium Bite Back upgrade.” The message then confirms that said players have had their upgrade value refunded to their Microsoft account.

The second screenshot shows the full refund processed through the Microsoft Store, for a total amount of $26.99. If you qualify for the refund, be sure to keep an eye on your notifications in the coming days as Microsoft should roll out the refunds at a steady pace.
Redfall is perhaps one of the greater tragedies of today’s volatile gaming landscape. When it was announced it was a promising co-op shooter, but unfortunately it was plagued by something far worse than its vampire enemies: copious bugs, glitches, and visual oddities. Shortly after launch, the number of concurrent players on Steam was virtually non-existent. This despite reassurance from Bethesda publishing director Pete Hines Redfall would eventually ‘become a good game’.
Arkane Austin managed to provide the game with a welcome update before the studio closed. It added a completely offline single player option Redfall among many other changes in quality of life.
