Barcelona manager Xavi decided to leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

Xavi revealed his decision at a press conference after Barcelona’s 5-3 defeat at home to Villarreal on Saturday, in which they conceded a 3-2 lead with two goals in stoppage time.

The 44-year-old stated that the situation at Barcelona ‘must change’.

Xavi said: ‘I would like to announce that I will no longer continue as coach at Barça on June 30. I think the situation needs to change course, and as a culer I cannot allow the current situation to continue.”

Barcelona have lacked consistency this season and currently sit third in LaLiga, with their defeat to Villarreal leaving them ten points behind leaders Real Madrid.
